The Governor’s Call has arrived to convene the 78th Legislature to their 3rd Extraordinary Session of 2009.
There are seven items on the proclamation, including five appropriations bills, a bill relating to extending unemployment compensation funds as authorized by the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and a bill ordering a one-time bonus be paid to certain full-time public employees.
Per the Governor’s call, the five appropriation bills include $5 million for the West Virginia Development Office Broadband Deployment Fund, $2.5 million for the Bureau of Senior Services, $34.7 million to fund a one-time bonus for certain full-time public employees, $169,000 for the Governor’s Office and a appropriation to pay for the expenses of the Extraordinary Session.
Session in both chambers convenes at 5:30pm.
