The Senate met today and passed four bills, advanced four bills to third reading, and advanced four bills to second reading.
Bills that passed unanimously include Senate Bill 159, Senate Bill 383, Senate Bill 427, and Senate Bill 368, which would clarify certain criminal conviction constitutes basis for voiding marriage.
Bills advanced to third reading include Senate Bill 108, Senate Bill 353, Senate Bill 412, and Senate Bill 464, which would regulate tanning facilities.
Bills advanced to second reading include Senate Bill 183, Senate Bill 208, Senate Bill 446, and Senate Bill 358, which relates to municipal policemen and firemen pensions.
Senate Concurrent Resolution 7 would officially designate the Hall Flintlock Model of 1819 as the state firearm.the Hall rifle was made at the U.S. Arsenal in Harpers Ferry and patented by Captain John H. Hall on May 21, 1811. The resolution must now go to the House for further consideration.
Update:
Senate Bill 359, relating to education reform, which had been moved to the foot of bills on first reading earlier in the day, was laid over on third reading for further consideration on Monday, March 18.
The Senate will reconvene Monday at 11:00 a.m.
