The House reconvened this evening to finish their session for the day. House Bill 2688, the Unitization Bill, which would provide for the unitization of interests in drilling units in connection with all horizontal oil or gas wells was passed following several hours of debate.
The House also recieved a Senate message for Senate Bill 361, the Prevailing Wage bill. The bill would elminate the prevailing hourly wage requirement for construction of public improvement. The bill has completed legislative action and awaits the governor’s signature.
Other bills passed include House Bill 2902, the West Virginia Able Act. This would allow parents to create a private savings account to provide for the future of their disabled child. Another bill that passed was House Bill 2828. THis bill would modify the requirements that allow a child witness to testify by closed circuit television.
Nine other bills were read for a third time and passed.
