Delegate Carol Miller (R-Cabell) served as Majority Leader on the floor today. This marked the first time a female delegate has served as Majority Leader on the floor of the House of Delegates. She already made history as the first female Assistant Majority Leader and the first female in a leadership position in a Republican led majority of the House of Delegates.
The House amended Senate Bill 532, relating to civil liability immunity for clinical practice plans and medical and dental school personnel was advanced to third.
Another bill that was read for a second time was House Bill 2769, which would move expiring funds to the unappropriated surplus balance in the State Fund and General Revenue from various agencies. Seven other bills were read for a second time.
Nineteen bills were read for a first time.
The House also adopted Senate Concurrent Resolution 50 which provides for the issuance of refunding bonds pursuant to Safe Roads Amendment of 1966.
