House Completes Legislative Action for Senate Bill 336

Today the House met to complete legislative action on Senate Bill 336. This bill would eliminate the Health Care Authority’s power to apply certain penalties to future rate applications.  

Senate Bill 502 was moved from the regular calendar to the special calendar and read for a third time. This bill would relate to eligibility for certain reclamation or remediation tax credit. The bill was passed and awaits the concurrence of the Senate. 

Eighteen bills were read for a second time. One bill was Senate Bill 581 which relates to the Tourism Promotion Fund and Courtesy Patrol Fund. The bill was amended by the Finance Committee. 

The House adopted four resolutions including, HCR 130, HCR131, HCR 132, and HCR 133.

The House reconvened this evening to complete legislative action on House Bill 2586, House Bill 2632, House Bill 2914 and House Bill 2648. HB 2586 would allow for an alternative form of service of process in actions against nonresident persons by petitioners seeking domestic violence or personal safety relief. HB 2632 would exempt the procurement of certain instructional materials for use in and in support of public schools from the division of purchasing requirements. HB 2914 would provide for voluntary dissolution of resort area districts. HB 2648 would allow authorized entities to maintain a stock of epinephrine auto-injectors to be used for emergency. 

THe House passed House Bill 2550. This bill would increase the number of unexcused absences of a student before action may be taken against the parent. 

The House also debated amendments on Senate Bill 347, the Firearm Act of 2015. They also debated amendments to House Bill 2016, the Budget Bill.
