Today the Senate adopted two resolutions, Senate Concurrent Resolution 29 and Senate Resolution 24. Senate Concurrent Resolution 29 requests a sign in Releigh County that reads “Birthplace of Bill Withers, noted Grammy Award-winning recording artist.” Bill Withers’ songs include the famous 1970’s classics “Ain’t No Sunshine,” and “Lean On Me.”
Senate Resolution 24 recognized Steve Antoline, the 2014 Tree Farmer of the Year.
Four bills were passed today on third reading: Senate Bill 90, Senate Bill 403, Senate Bill 450 and Senate 454, and now move to the House for further consideration. Senate Bill 403 regulates the possession and importation of injurious aquatic species in order to protect West Virginia’s water and aquatic life.
Senate Bill 454 defines “dam owner” in the Dam Control Act after a study by the interim Agriculture and Agribusiness Committee. The legislation clearly defines who holds ownership of the dam.
