Today in the Senate, Senate Bill 14 was discharged from the Finance Committee and read a first time. The bill would create the West Virginiana Public Charter Schools Act of 2015.
The Senate adopted the conference committee report and completed legislation on House BIll 2002, which would predicate actions for damages upon principles of comparative fault.
Six bills were read a third time and passed. One of which, Senate Bill 292 would establish a uniform date of December 31 for the expiration of licenses for the business of currency exchange, transportation or transmission.
36 bills were read for a second time and advanced to third reading.
