The Senate met and completed legislation on 14 bills during the floor session today. Six of the bills completed were Senate bills which completed following the concurrence in House amendments and passage, including Senate Bill 30, permitting shared animal ownership agreements to consume raw milk. House Bills 2213 and 2576 completed following the adoption of conference reports and passage. House Bill 2213 would reduce the distribution to the West Virginia Infrastructure Fund. House Bill 2576 would create new code sections which separates the executive departments.
In addition to bills that completed, 11 bills passed on third reading, including House Bills 2478 and 2627. House Bill 2478 relates to the finance of public schools and was passed following the adoption of an amendment. House Bill 2627 seeks to provide protection against property crimes committed against coal mines, utilities and other industrial facilities.
Twenty-four bills on second reading were advanced to third reading, including House Bill 2793, which was advanced to with the right to amend.
Eight bills were taken up for immediate consideration and read a first time.
The Senate also adopted Senate Resolutions 55 and 56. Senate Resolution 55 recognized March 11, 2015 as Preston County Day at the Legislature. Senate Resolution 56 memorializes the life of the Honorable Mack Jarrell, a former member of the West Virginia Senate.

UPDATE:
The Senate reconvened this evening and repassed Senate Bill 30 following a reconsideration of the previous passage. The Senate amended the House amendments and passed the bill, now requesting the House to concur in their amendments.
The Senate also reported bills from their respective committees, and three bills were taken up for immediate consideration and read a first time.
The Senate is adjounred until 11 a.m tomorrow.
