The Senate returned after a recess to receive committee reports and pass HB 107, relating generally to the Tax Reform Act of 2017. The bill was amended by the Senate Finance Committee and debated heavily prior to passage. It now heads to the House of Delegates for their consideration.
The Senate also passed SB 1006, which would increase funding for the State Road Fund.
Other bills passed included: SB 1003, relating generally to WV Parkways Authority; SB 1010, relating to Volunteer Fire Department Workers’ Compensation Premium Subsidy Fund; SB 1011, selling Hopemont Hospital; and, SB 1014, relating generally to physician assistants. These bills now await introduction in the House of Delegates.
The Senate stands in recess until 5:45 p.m.
Following the recess, the Senate introduced and adopted SCR 102, providing for the adjournement of the Legislature until June 5th, 2017.
