Danville, WV Town Manager Joshua J. Barker was sworn in today as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 22nd Delegate District, in a ceremony in the House Chamber in Charleston, WV. Delegate Barker was appointed by this position by Governor Tomblin following the resignation of Delegate Josh Stowers.
Delegate Barker was joined by his friends and family as he was administered the oath of office by Boone County Circuit Judge Will Thompson. Delegate Barker is married to Jill Lambert Barker, a vice principal at Chapmanville High School and the couple has one daughter, Katy Grace.
The 22nd District, composed of the majority of Lincoln County and portions of Boone, Logan and Putnam, has two representatives in the House of Delegates. Delegate Barker will complete the remainder of former Delegate Stower’s term, which is set to end December 31, 2014.
