House Commemorates the Life of Morris E. “Mike” Mowery Jr.

House Resolution 7 was adopted today, commemorating the life of Morris E. “Mike” Mowery, a former member of the House of Delegates. Mowery spent much of his life dedicated to West Virginian legislature, serving as a delegate, attorney of the House and Chief Council. 

The house passed both HB 2053 and HB 2227 during today’s floor session. HB 2053 relates to the form of trust deeds and HB 2227 relates to the National Coal Heritage Area Authority. Both bills have now been passed off to the Senate.

House Bill 2200 was advanced to second reading. The purpose of this bill is to revise, rearrange, consolidate and recodify the laws of the State of West Virginia relating to child welfare.

There were also 25 bills referred to their respective committees and 1 introduced bill. 

 

The house is adjourned until 11 a.m. Feburary 2, 2015.
