School Children Greet the House with “Country Roads”

Today in the House, 4-year-old’s from the West Virginia Public Employees Daycare Center greeted members by singing “Country Roads”.

The House passed House Bill 2402, House Bill 2438, House Bill 2475 and House Bill 2556, which would reset the expiration date to 2014, of provisions that allow the employment of retired teachers as substitutes beyond the post-retirement employment limit in areas of critical need and shortage.

House Bill 2525 was read for a second time and was advanced to third reading. Also, House Bill 2517, House Bill 2520 and House Bill 2648 were read for the first time and advanced to second reading.

Additionally, the House adopted two resolutions. House Resolution 10 recognized the statewide contributions of the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia. House Resolution 11 honored January 26, 2011 as “Women’s Day” in the Legislature.
