Senate Passes H.B. 2612

 The Senate convened today at 11 a.m.

H. B. 2612, was passed 32-1 with one member absent and is now awaiting a signature from the governor. The bill repeals §17c-14-1 which criminalizes leaving a vehicle unattended without stopping the engine, locking the ignition, removing the keys and setting the brake. If the vehicle is on a hill the wheels must also be turned toward the curb.

S. B. 290, S. B. 365, S. B. 375 and S. B. 446 were passed unanimously with one member absent.

S. B. 57 was passed unanimously with two members not votiong.

H. B. 2546 was laid over one day.

The Senate adopted S.R. 38, designating February 13, 2018, as WV Child Care Association Celebrating Children and Families Day, and S.R. 39, designating week of February 11-17, 2018, as WV 211 Awareness Week.
