Delegate Mick Bates (D-Raleigh) was sworn into office surrounded by friends and family during a brief ceremony Tuesday in the House Chamber.
House Clerk Greg Gray administered the oath of office to Bates.
The 1st Regular Session of the 82nd Legislature begins on Wednesday, January 14th, 2015.
